Rangers want to sign Sassuolo attacking midfielder Nedim Bajrami on a season-long loan and are closing in on a deal after talks on Wednesday, according to the Scottish Sun.
The Ibrox club wants to further bolster their options in the final third before the summer transfer window shuts on Friday night, and the Albanian international has emerged as a target.
Bajrami entered into the history books at the European Championship in the summer, after setting the record for the fastest goal ever scored in the history of the competition.The Rangers target bagged 23 seconds into his nation’s game against Italy, and he could now be plying his trade in the Scottish Premiership after catching their eyes.
Bajrami can play as No.10 or as a winger, ending last term with three goals and two assists in 31 games for the Serie B club while they were in Serie A.
The Switzerland-born attacker bagged 22 goals and 22 assists in 127 games for Empoli before leaving for Sassuolo in January 2023, and Rangers are convinced he has what it takes to improve them in front of goal.
