Rangers, if everything goes to plan, are going to need three new players, at least in the closing hours of the transfer window.
If Philippe Clement thought he was going to be busy before, the manager will be forgiven for taking one eye off the weekend’s Old Firm derby to make the signings that he wants.
The exciting name that emerged on Wednesday is Nedim Bajrami who would be filling the Rangers playmaker slot being vacated by Todd Cantwell if the move that he has agreed to Blackburn Rovers gets completed.

Rangers in talks to sign Nedim Bajrami
According to David Edgar of the Heart and Hand podcast, speaking on the Daily Update for Thursday the 29th of August, it looks like Rangers are willing to compromise with talks underway over a potential deal:
“One player who has been linked with Rangers is Nedim Bajrami from Sassuolo.
“Now, the name might ring a bell because he was the Albania international who scored and amazing goal for them after 25 seconds against Italy at this summer’s Euros, the quickest Euros goal of all time.
“He’s 25, and he is currently in the Sassuolo squad in Serie B, he moved from Empoli last year to Sassuolo and Sassuolo actually went down.
‘So, Rangers it looks like the want to sign him either permanently or with a loan to buy but Sassuolo just want a straight loan for the player.

“Talks have been taking place between the player’s representatives and the club.
“It would be an initial loan and whether or not Rangers could get an option to buy in the deal would be down to Sassuolo.”
Todays DU is out. With me bowing to public demand on the tune.

Bajrami signing could breathe new life into Rangers
Bajrami would be the type of signing that would give Rangers fans hope.
They need something, a sign that the season isn’t already being written off.
Centre-half is a priority after Ben Davies left on loan to sign for Birmingham City, however, number 10, is so important for the system that Clement implements.
A playmaker who can score goals and unlock opposition defences is needed in Europe when possession isn’t dominated as much and in domestic football when defences are packed.
Tom Lawrence played well against Ross County but it is a position that should be more influential than he is currently displaying since the start of the season.
Injury has robbed the 30-year old of a yard of pace that he could barely afford to lose in the first place.
Ianis Hagi might yet stick around after his impassioned plea to be given a chance and his versatility could be handy.
Signing a player like Bajrami, be it on loan or a permanent deal, would just be the sort of life that the manager and fans alike could really get behind.
