The Light Blues make the trip across Glasgow for the first Old Firm derby of the campaign on Sunday (1 September) as Clement looks to pick up his first win over the Hoops since arriving in Scotland last term. While Clement will have to make do without new signing Nedim Bajrami against the Gers’ Glasgow rivals, he did confirm that fellow deadline-day arrival Neraysho Kasanwirjo could make his debut at Parkhead.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Saturday (31 August) he said: “Nedim Bajrami paperwork is not fully completed, so will not be available.
“Neraysho Kasanwirjo is an option for selection but has had limited time to train. Oscar Cortes is back in training, building up his fitness now.”Now that the summer transfer window has slammed shut, all of Rangers’ attention will be firmly placed on Sunday afternoon’s clash.
The importance of this game simply cannot be overstated as it has the potential to not only define what happens in the Premiership title race this season but also whether or not Clement keeps his job at Ibrox.
