James Tavernier was confronted by a fuming Rangers fan who told the captain to ‘f*** off’ as he was led away by Ibrox security.
Tavernier captained Rangers as they fell to another painful defeat against Celtic at Parkhead that left them trailing by five points already after just four games of the league season. The Premiership champions ran out 3-0 winners, and Rangers returned to Ibrox for a debrief after the game.
Footage circling on social media showed boss Philippe Clement and defender Leon Balogun, among others, attempting to placate raging punters. And a new clip being shared by multiple accounts on X shows one singling out Tavernier for a tirade of abuse.

The fan brands the performance ’embarrassing’ asking ‘where’s Tav?’ as the rest of the players exit the stadium. When the skipper emerges, the raging fan brands the captain a ‘loser’ and tells him ‘do us a favour and f*** off.’ The skipper is briefly seen reacting to the tirade before being escorted out of the shot along with the rest of his teammates.
