Rangers Star Backed To ‘Really Add Something’ To Gers By Former Top Flight Defender
Former Scottish top flight defender Danny Buijs believes that Feyenoord loanee Neraysho Kasanwirjo will ‘really add something’ to Philippe Clement’s Rangers side.
The 22-year-old Dutch defender joined the Glasgow outfit on the transfer deadline day on a season-long loan and the Gers have an option to buy him next year.
Kasanwirjo has represented the Dutch national side at all youth levels and is a product of the prestigious youth set-up at Ajax.
Bujis managed the versatile defender at Groningen before when he was managing the Dutch side and he is aware of the Dutchman’s qualities.
The ex-Kilmarnock star is of the view that Kasanwirjo has the ability to ‘really add something’ to the Gers side when he gets some time on the ball.
“I’m very curious to see how he does in Scotland because from my experience the physical things in Scotland are at a high level, the game is played with a lot of intensity and a lot of physical power”, Bujis told the Daily Record about the Rangers man.
“But when Neraysho gets time on the ball and space he can really add something to Rangers.”
Robin Propper also joined Rangers from Eredivisie side Twente this summer and Bujis insisted that the experienced defender will help Kasanwirjo to settle in.
“Of course, Robin can help him settle.
“Robin is a player with experience and last year Twente did very well in the Dutch league and he played an important role in that.
“The football in Scotland is different.
“A Dutch player can maybe add something on a technical aspect but I really think they have to grow in the intensity and the physical aspect.”
The Dutchman was on the bench last week when Rangers lost against rivals Celtic and he will be looking to make his against Dundee United after the international break.
