Philippe Clement will be relieved Rangers secured an “unpleasant” win at Dundee United but the performance means he can’t be encouraged, according to Tom English.
The BBC Scotland journalist reacted via X on 15 September after the Light Blues took three points at Tannadice in a tight victory decided by Tom Lawrence’s early strike. He claimed the victory was anything but comfortable and pointed to Gers bookings for time-wasting late on as proof of why.
He wrote: “Rangers picking up bookings for time-wasting in defence of a 1-0 lead tells its own story. A small bit of solace for Jim Goodwin that his team gave the jittery visitors an unpleasant afternoon. Philippe Clement should be relieved but hardly encouraged”.Unsurprisingly this low-confidence Gers side weren’t on fire against Jim Goodwin’s men but it was a win that should have been more comfortable.
