Scottish rockstar says he’d have ‘definitely considered’ ultimate Rangers sacrifice
There’s a famous saying amongst Rangers fans that those who don’t understand, don’t matter.
It’s a mantra which remains central to the experience of following the Glasgow giants, a club which has a following amongst the most loyal, if not the most loyal, in the global game.
From the highs of Rangers’ storied history to the depths of the club’s financial collapse in 2012, the support of the Ibrox faithful has never been in doubt.
It’s a special relationship and one which many, metaphorically at the very least, would be willing to die for.
And that’s what one famous Scottish musician has been talking about this week as he details his teenage love affair with the famous Glasgow Rangers and how far he’d have gone to show his loyalty.

Jesus and Mary Chain star ‘would’ve died’ for Rangers
Rangers fans of a certain vintage will be well aware of The Jesus and Mary Chain.
Founded by brothers Jim and William Reid, the band was born out of East Kilbride in 1983 and since then they’ve released eight albums, across two spells in operation.
Their 1985 album Psychocandy is one of the most iconic releases of the decade, with that grungy yet melodically soft sound still played on repeat in some places today.

For those readers who need a nudge, their most classic hits include Just Like Honey from the aforementioned Psychocandy and April Skies from 1987 album Darklands.
Having taken an eight-year hiatus between 1999 and 2007, the band is back with its latest release with the aptly named Glasgow Eyes bringing the alternative rock outfit back into the spotlight.
The Reid brothers have also released a new biography Never Understood, which was ghostwritten by established music journalist Ben Thompson.
As part of all this, Jim and William have done an interview with the Times and in it, William references his teenage love of Rangers.
In a line that anyone of a blue persuasion will understand, the typically poetic musician joked: “If someone had said, ‘Strap this bomb to your chest for the sake of Rangers,’ I would definitely have considered it.”
Rangers support maintains amid Ibrox uncertainty
There are plenty of big names attached to the famous Glasgow Rangers and it’s something which never leaves you.
That feeling of adoration for Rangers as a teenager generally maintains all the way through adult life and it’s something all Gers fans can relate to.
The last few seasons, if not the last 12 or 13 years, have been tough on the support but the loyalty maintains through the hard times.
Rangers are now in a transitional moment and the club’s support remains unwavering as the Gers look to find some much-needed stability on and off the park.
As Philippe Clement tries to settle the squad following a major summer overhaul, the hierarchy of the club remains in turmoil.
Former Rangers chairman Dave King has put his hat into the ring to return to Ibrox in the short-term after John Bennett stepped down due to health reasons.
But amid all the chaos, the Rangers fans remain a constant and you only need to look at the Gers support’s rendition of ‘Caledonia’ to see just how much the club means to fans.
