The transfer window might be closed but reports have suggest Rangers are not quite done with their summer business
Philippe Clement and director of football recruitment Nils Koppen are said to have launched an audacious bid to land Netherlands midfielder Davy Klaassen – but have been knocked back with the 31-year-old on the brink of a return to Ajax. The former Inter Milan man boasts a wealth of experience – and hints that the Light Blues are looking to add a veteran to their engine room.
The likes of Ryan Jack and John Lundstram have been replaced by Connor Barron in the middle of the park for the Scottish Premiership side – but there are still to be done if Rangers want it. Record Sport takes a look at the stars that are still available.

Marco van Ginkel
The 31-year-old has previously been linked with a move to Rangers and has yet to find a new club after leaving Vitesse at the end of last season. He boasts plenty of experience having been on the books at PSV, Chelsea and Milan.

Miralem Pjanic
The 34-year-old has spent the last two seasons in the UAE with Sharjah FC but is now on the lookout for another club. Previously linked with a move to Ibrox, the former Juventus, Barcelona and Roma man could cap off his career back in Europe if Rangers come calling.

Kevin Strootman
Another who boasts plenty of European experience, the 34-year-old has had spells at Marseille, Roma and PSV throughout his career. However, after his Genoa contract came to an end the Netherlands cap is still searching for a new club.
