Philippe Clement has nothing to fear as Steven Gerrard appears to have quashed rumours of a potential return to Rangers.
Dave King has put his name forward to replace John Bennett as chairman of the Light Blues [talkSPORT] and named Gerrard in his pitch for a sensational return to Glasgow.However, the Daily Record [17 September] reports that the South African is set to be unsuccessful in his attempts to return to Rangers.
Amid the swirling recent rumours, Gerrard, meanwhile, has all but confirmed his long-term commitment to Al-Ettifaq.
As per the Daily Record, the 44-year-old has today spoken about the injury problems to Majed Dawran and Jack Hendry, while admitting he is already looking ahead to the next transfer window to bolster his side. It seems that his future will therefore remain in Saudi Arabia, rather than Glasgow.
