Rangers new chairman: Keith Wyness lifts lid on ‘massive infighting’ at Ibrox
Aberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed John Bennett’s resignation will lead to “massive infighting” at Rangers.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Aberdeen between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed there will be a “huge battle” for the top job at Ibrox.
Rangers announced on Saturday (14 September) that chairman Bennett has stepped down “with immediate effect for health reasons”.
Former director John Gilligan will temporarily fulfil the role of until a permanent successor is appointed.
Ex-Gers chairman Dave King has said he is “available” to return to his former role and claims the club is “in crisis”.
The Glasgow giants are already without a CEO after the departure of James Bisgrove earlier this year.

“I heard an interview with Dave King, who was previously the chairman, saying he wants to come back.

“He’s the major shareholder with 15%, but it’s going to be a huge battle.
