Rangers board sources have rejected claims from Dave King of investor fatigue at Ibrox, according to Chris Jack.
The Rangers Review journalist reported via the outlet’s website on 19 September that those in charge at the club had “dismissed” the former chairman’s stance that only outside investment can take the club forward after expensive projects such as the Copland Road Stand work and Edmiston House.The update comes as King continued his verbal assault on the current administration, blasting the “faceless” members of the hierarchy who want to install a “puppet” chairman to replace John Bennett, who resigned 14 September on health grounds.
He said in a statement to Rangers Review: “Those same faceless people want the chance to do it all again. When John Bennett took over he tried to turns things around – but had no human or financial resources to support him.
“It is amazing that the same people who got us into this trouble want to continue control by placing, as a professional Chairman, their own puppet – who will have no knowledge of the Club or financial interest in its future. We are sleepwalking Celtic towards title 55, 56 and 57 instead of trying to stop them. This board will go down as an infamy in the Club’s history.
