Rangers welcomed their fans back to Ibrox for the first time this season with a convincing win over Dundee this evening.
The Ibrox outfit are into the hat for the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals thanks to their 3-0 victory in Glasgow with Cyriel Dessers bagging two and James Tavernier notching a penalty to pave the way.
Philippe Clement will undoubtedly be pleased with the win as he hopes to retain the trophy from last season’s triumph but he’ll also be chuffed with the manner of the performance. That being said, the Dees did have their chances.
Football Scotland takes a look at seven of the standouts from the 90 minutes of action.
Cyriel Dessers
Hit two good goals for the big striker and he also won the penalty that was converted by James Tavernier. Might’ve had a hat-trick on another day but was subbed.
1 of 7
Trevor Carson
Was terrific for the Dees on what was a difficult day where he still conceded three times. Made at least three excellent saves to keep the score down.
2 of 7
Jack Butland
At the other end Butland was rarely tested but did well when he was. Kept out Scott Tiffoney with a good save with his feet at 1-0 before the second-half he also made a brilliant scrambling stop to prevent Simon Murray scoring.
3 of 7
Lyall Cameron
Strung passes together for the Dees all afternoon and put in some really dangerous crosses. One in particular which was inexplicably headed over by Seb Palmer-Houlden.
