Rangers NEED change as John Gilligan’s EGM dismissal brings board’s recent record into focus for Ibrox favourite

Craig Moore can understand why Dave King is frustrated with the Rangers board, who don’t want change when that’s EXACTLY what he reckons is needed.
Interim chairman John Gilligan addressed a number of issues in a Monday media briefing, among them his wish for King to pipe down and do his talking in private like a “normal shareholder.” On King’s demand that an EGM be held in order to let the fans decide, Gilligan flipped the script, asking why the current Ibrox power brokers would hold one when there’s no appetite for change?
That’s where Moore feels Gilligan isn’t reading the room, as change at the top is what the Aussie feels is required at his old club, and doesn’t think the current custodians’ record stands up to scrutiny over recents seasons, regardless of how much they love the club or how good their intentions are. He told GO Radio: “I can understand Dave King’s frustration. He’s the major shareholder with 15 per cent but he doesn’t have any say or influence.

“John Gilligan says an EGM only comes about when people want change. That for me, is exactly what Rangers need. As the largest shareholder, when you can’t actually find a way to get to the table and have any kind of discussion must be really, really frustrating.

“There needs to be massive investment. But at the same time, investors are looking for a return. When you look at Rangers in recent seasons and the current board, obviously their intentions are in the right place, but their decisions over the last three seasons, there’s been more poor decisions than positive decisions.”
