West Ham criticised by foreign press as terrible news emerges regarding Julen Lopetegui summer signing
Julen Lopetegui and West Ham United are being blamed for some bad news that one Hammer has just received.
West Ham made nine new signings in the summer, with Julen Lopetegui overseeing some terrific new additions.

However, only a few of the new arrivals have started well this season, and reports have already claimed that Julen Lopetegui’s job is at risk.
Whilst I’m not sure that’s necessarily true, the pressure is definitely on the 58-year-old’s shoulders right now.
One of the biggest criticisms of Lopetegui is that he is failing to get the best out of any of his players at the London Stadium.

And one of the new signing’s poor form has already made big news abroad.

So it seems like the Hammers are receiving some real criticism out in Spain after the latest round of international squad announcements.
Guido Rodriguez has been omitted from the latest Argentina squad, and the press out in Spain have laid the blame squarely at the feet of West Ham United.

Estadio Deportivo claim that Rodriguez’s omission from the Argentina national squad is the ‘worst possible news’.
The Spanish publication suggests that the ‘moral blow’ for the midfielder has come about because he has not been the same player for the Hammers, since leaving Betis.
Lopetegui brought Rodriguez to the London Stadium on a free transfer in the summer, after his contract with Real Betis expired.
At the time, it was suggested that Guido Rodriguez was a fabulous addition for West Ham.
However, as things stand, he has struggled to adapt to the pace and intensity of Premier League football.
His low-point came when he was taken off before half-time by Lopetegui during our home defeat to Chelsea.

As things stand, he certainly hasn’t impressed so far. That said, he definitely deserves time to adjust to the English game.
Rodriguez needs time to settle at West Ham
I believe that he will come good for the Hammers.
Rodriguez’s skillset lends itself to Premier League football, so there’s no reason why he shouldn’t succeed at the London Stadium.
The Argentinian ace is aggressive, tenacious in the tackle, and he recycles the ball with efficiency.
Anyone who watched him play for Betis last season will know how good he is.
In theory, the Hammers should have a rock solid double pivot with the 30-year-old slotted in alongside Edson Alvarez.
And we desperately need both of those players to forge a proper understanding and relationship with one another.
If he’s given time, Guido Rodriguez will be a hit with West Ham – we all just need to be patient with him.
