Jack Butland believes a different approach was needed against Lyon as Rangers suffered a 4-1 defeat in the Europa League.
The Gers welcomed the French outfit to Ibrox on Thursday (3 October) looking to make it two wins from two in Europe to start their campaign.This didn’t go to plan as the away side scored four to take advantage of some slack moments from the Light Blues which the English keeper wasn’t happy about.
Speaking to TNT Sports, shared via X on 3 October, the shot-stopper was downcast and suggested that change may be needed moving forward at Ibrox.
He said: “You wish you could do it all over again because you hate to say it, but I think there’s a different approach that we needed.”It was a night to forget for the Light Blues who truly struggled to compete at times with the Ligue 1 outfit who had more quality throughout the pitch.
The likes of Rayan Cherki and Alexandre Lacazette were just on a different level on the night which made things difficult for Philippe Clement’s side to deal with.
