Despite speculation late on in the summer transfer window, reports suggest that the Light Blues were never close to a deal to sign the 21-year-old on transfer deadline day [Scott Burns, 30 August].The Gers have seemed reluctant to sign players from other Premiership clubs in recent years and Clyde 1 pundit Halliday has urged the Light Blues to consider Cameron suggesting he would cost less than £1million.

“Dundee fans won’t like this, but Lyall Cameron is the next one. Go and sign him, how much is he going to cost? Less than a million quid
