Celtic player ratings so far in season 2024/25 as one summer signing outshines Reo Hatate
With the international break coming to an end, domestic football is set to return this weekend as Celtic take on Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.
Brendan Rodgers’ side maintains a 100% record in the Scottish Premiership as Celtic recorded impressive wins over Rangers, Kilmarnock, and Hearts and the Bhoys have even hit St Johnstone for six.
But with Aberdeen up next for Celtic, Rodgers’ men will need to be on their mettle as Jimmy Thelin’s men are likely to pose a tough test at Celtic Park on Saturday.

Callum McGregor: 8.23
The Celtic captain has been excellent this season rated as player of the match in Celtic’s 2-0 win over Hibs. McGregor has also hit four goals and created an assist in the process.

Nicolas Kuhn: 8.07
Kuhn has been in sparkling form this season for the Bhoys bagging three goals and and four assists in six starts. Kuhn also netted an important late winner in Celtic’s struggling 2-1 win over Ross County.
Alistair Johnston: 8.00
Johnston has started all seven of Celtic’s wins in the Scottish Premiership and was rated as the best player on the pitch in the Hoops’ win over Ross County.
Liam Scales: 7.98
The Republic of Ireland defender has been a mainstay in Brendan Rodgers’ team. Scales is one of the main reasons Celtic have conceded just one goal this season.

Trusty was signed on deadline day and is filling in for the injured Cameron Carter-Vickers and has performed well in two starts against Ross County and St Johnstone.
Greg Taylor: 7.80
Taylor is another Celtic defender who has been solid this season. In six starts, the Scotland defender has created three assists with one of his best performances coming in Celtic’s defeat of Rangers.
Cameron Carter-Vickers: 7.73
Carter Vickers has played in five of Celtic’s seven league games so far and has been as reliable as ever. Currently injured, the Celtic fans will be hoping to see the American back in first-team action soon.

Kasper Schmeichel: 7.59
Schmeichel was signed as a replacement for Joe Hart and he has excelled at Celtic. Conceding just one goal, the big Dane equalled the record for consecutive league clean sheets on the opening fixtures of a season.
Luke McCowan: 7.51
Celtic’s last signing on transfer deadline day, McCowan has been excellent so far this season. In four appearances, the former Dundee captain was rated the player of the match scoring in Celtic’s win over Hearts.
Daizen Maeda: 7.43
Maeda has gone from strength to strength this season and has scored two and created two in five league starts under Rodgers. He was also rated the best player on the pitch in Celtic’s hammering of Rangers.
Paulo Bernardo: 7.43
Bernardo has started three league games this season and has scored and created one goal so far. His best performance for Celtic was in the 6-0 blitzing of St Johnstone.
Arne Engels: 7.43
Celtic’s record transfer signing, Engels was rated the best player on the park as he scored a penalty in Celtic’s win over Hearts. He has started three out of his four league appearances so far.

Reo Hatate: 7.32
Hatate has been in and out of Celtic’s starting lineup this season but has performed relatively well. The Japan midfielder has scored two goals and was Celtic’s best player in the win vs St Mirren.
Kyogo Furuhashi: 7.16
Kyogo has scored three goals and created two assists so far in the league this season. His best performance was in the 6-0 St Johnstone win but he has also scored against Rangers this season.
James Forrest: 7.03
Now a veteran at Celtic, Forrest is still proving his worth with three assists in the wins over Hearts, St Mirren and Hibs.
Adam Idah: 6.55
Idah has started just two of his five league appearances at Celtic so far but has scored just one goal in the win over St Johnstone since his £8.5m move from Norwich City.
