Aston Villa to force Rory Wilson to train alone as situation escalates – Exclusive
Aston Villa are set to make Rory Wilson train on his own once he’s recovered from an ankle injury, Villa News understands.
The Villans have been in contract negotiations with the 18-year-old for many months. His current terms are due to expire next summer but a new deal is yet to be agreed upon between the parties.

It is understood that the Scotland Under-21s international’s situation has led to him attracting interest from across Europe and he could agree a pre-contract deal elsewhere as early as January before moving for a compensation fee in the summer.
Aston Villa are keen for the Scot to sign a new contract but he is yet to have been offered any first-team assurances as part of negotiations, which have not involved Unai Emery or president of football operations Monchi.
Wilson has been out of action since mid-September and since then, he’s been excluded from Under-21s team meetings and will be made to train away from the main group with a sports scientist once he’s fully fit.

Villa News understands that Wilson’s camp are unhappy with what they deem to be “coercive” behaviour towards the teenager. However, sources close to the former Rangers academy star are hopeful of a resolution in January.
Wilson has proven himself on the biggest academy stage, scoring in the UEFA Youth League clash against Young Boys earlier in the season.
