Kevin Muscat inside scoop revealed by ex-Rangers star amid Ibrox new manager speculation
Craig Moore has revealed that Kevin Muscat is keeping tabs on the Rangers situation despite success with Shanghai Port in China.
The Australian manager was heavily linked with the role at Ibrox before Philippe Clement took charge but now the Belgian finds himself under pressure.
With Muscat’s side sitting top of the Chinese Super League, ex-St Mirren ace Stephen McGinn has questioned whether the Gers’ defeat against Aberdeen would have been of interest.
Speaking on Go Radio (31 October), he said: “You’re playing to win a league on Saturday, that is your universe, he might not know Rangers have lost.”
Former Rangers ace and Australia international Moore quickly replied: “Oh he does!”
Kevin Muscat keeping tabs on Philippe Clement situation at Rangers
It is safe to say that the 51-year-old has continued to do well for himself in China after failing to land the job with the Light Blues a year ago.
Muscat’s Shanghai Port side find themselves top of the CSL by just one point and have just one game left which could see them win the title with a positive result.
This is a far cry from the situation at Ibrox with the Gers currently sitting nine points behind the top two despite being just ten games into the season.

Clement has struggled to get the best out of his side which culminated in a 2-1 defeat against Aberdeen on Wednesday (30 October) which certainly left supporters frustrated inside Pittodrie and beyond.

Although it doesn’t appear that this result isn’t the last straw for the 50-year-old, negative results in upcoming clashes against Motherwell and Olympiacos could prove to be the end of the line.
It is certainly interesting to know that Muscat is keeping an eye on the Gers and is likely to be looking out for upcoming results.
In other Rangers news, a £59m UEFA message has been sent as new investment has been mooted at Ibrox.
