Rangers manager Philippe Clement has revealed why he’s tweaked his team for today’s Premier Sports Cup semi-final meeting with Motherwell
Vaclav Cerny and Jefte are the two changes to the Light Blues starting XI for this last-four showdown. Cerny missed the 2-1 loss against Aberdeen in midweek, while Jefte was only fit enough to appear as a substitute.
Ross McCausland isn’t in the squad, but there’s a welcomed place for Danilo.
Explaining his decisions to BBC Sportsound, Clement said: “It’s every game looking at the fitness of players and the players coming back. Vaclav Cerny was not available during the week, he’s back, he’s back fit which is important. Jefte the same thing, and to get the results every game you need to make a kind of rotation in the squad when you play every three days.”

Ex-Rangers captain spots one trait lacking through Clement’s squad
Rangers have lost three of their last matches in all competitions, and it’s widely thought that Clement would struggle to keep his role should his side not progress to the Scottish League Cup final.
Asked if he feels a weight on his shoulders this afternoon, the Rangers boss replied: “No, it’s no weight on my shoulders. It’s a weight on everybody’s shoulders together. We all want to have a succesful story and I’m here for that.
“I’m also the only spokesman for the club the last couple of months, so I will continue to do that and keep the team focusing on their performances, making it better and more consistent.”
