Rangers will need to bide their time for the opportunity to get revenge on Aberdeen following last week’s 2-1 defeat at Pittodrie.
Philippe Clement and his players were due to welcome the Dons to Ibrox on Sunday, December 15.
However, their participation in the Scottish League Cup final against Celtic means that this Scottish Premiership fixture will be postponed.
It will be rescheduled for another date, almost certainly in the new year.
Celtic currently trail both Aberdeen and Celtic in the title race by nine points after 10 league matches.
And while this match against the Dons will be pushed back to a later date, Clement’s side have a huge month coming up in December.
As well as the cup final, as the Old Firm get set to fight it out for the first silverware of the season, Rangers have games against St Johnstone, Kilmarnock and Ross County to navigate.
A Europa League ties against Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham will follow before the Hampden Park showdown with Celtic on December 15.
Former Rangers winger Neil McCann knows his old club will have trouble combating this busy schedule.

When is Celtic vs Rangers Premier Sports Cup final?
He told BBC Sportsound: “Cup football is all about getting through, and they are in a final now.
“The next game against Olympiacos (on Thursday) is huge. But in this cup final that they have got themselves into, they are facing a Celtic side who are absolutely scintillating and showed Aberdeen yesterday the levels you have got to get to (in order to) challenge.
“The problem that they (Rangers) have got is that they play Spurs three days beforehand. So it won’t be easy.
“The games don’t become any less pressurised for Philippe Clement, he has to get this side functioning better and more consistent. They can’t just turn the tap on and win games because they are not at that level yet.”
