Robin Propper makes excuses, Rangers man needs to stay silent
Robin Propper needs to stay quiet after making complaints about his opening appearances since signing for Rangers.
The 31-year-old signed for the Gers in the summer and has had a tough start to life during a difficult campaign for Philippe Clement’s side.
The Dutchman has started just eight league games since moving to Ibrox but has now spoken out about his frustration with the style of football in the Scottish Premiership.
Speaking to VoetbalPrimeur on 25 November, Propper said: “Despite my age, I still have to get used to Scottish football. In the Eredivisie there is a lot of focus on tactics and footballing ability, everybody wants to build from the back.
“But over here the focus lies more on the end result. You are playing against opponents whose keeper hits the ball long upfield. Many Scottish teams want to get forward as soon as possible. They’ll play long balls over the opposing defence to quickly get in on their goal.

“You also hear from the crowd that they want us to get the ball forward. But in Holland, we’ll maybe opt to play it wide, or even take time in possession. Sometimes there isn’t the patience for us to do this over here.”

The Light Blues let Connor Goldson go in the summer and replaced him with the Dutchman in what appeared to be an upgrade.
The defender signed from Twente has experience in the Eredivisie and in European competition which should have made him a useful asset at Ibrox.

With that being said, Propper hasn’t been any better than his English counterpart since moving to Govan and now appears to have complaints about the quality of football in Scotland.
It is bizarre to hear these comments, especially given the Gers aren’t leading the race in the league as they sit 11 points behind Celtic after 12 games.

It would be a better choice from the defender to focus on his performances getting better to turn the tide under Philippe Clement and help close the gap to the Light Blues’ Old Firm rivals.
Although some supporters may appreciate the ex-Heracles man’s honesty, it isn’t helpful in what is already a tough time for the Ibrox club.
