Rangers’ 3-1 victory over Celtic on Saturday caused wild celebrations for both supporters and players, but Danny Rohl needs to be careful
Rangers went level on points with their arch-rivals, and just six points off Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts, after a fantastic turnaround at Parkhead. The result is the pinnacle of Rohl’s stint at Rangers so far, and him and his side should be proud that they have dragged themselves back into contention.
While they should be happy about having the Old Firm bragging rights and potentially ending Wilfried Nancy’s reign, the German needs to keep a handle on things. The likes of Dujon Sterling and Nicolas Raskin posted about Rangers’ exploits on social media, mocking their arch-rivals.The players were welcomed back to Ibrox with chants and fireworks after the memorable win, but they cannot afford to get complacent.
There is still work to be done to catch the Jambos and fully overtake the Hoops, so the tomfoolery must end, and Rohl must ensure that his players are not distracted.
