49ers ‘to be embarrassed at Rangers’ after new Philippe Clement update

Rangers’ search for their permanent Philippe Clement successor is set to continue into the transfer window and June.
The San Francisco 49ers Enterprises group have completed their takeover and are expected to appoint a new permanent manager within the next week.
Barry Ferguson initially took over from the Belgian when he was sacked, but was shown the exit door from his interim post at the end of the campaign.
While the Gers are still looking for their new man, it seems Clement has already sorted a new job.

Rangers flop Clement set for new role
Clement’s stint at Ibrox started off well as he lifted the Premier Sports Cup after victory over Aberdeen in December 2023.

However, the start of the current campaign was shocking, and the 51-year-old was dismissed after successive home losses to Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup and then St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership, with the Gers miles behind Celtic.
Clement is about to get back into management, though, before the Gers have even appointed his permanent replacement.
A report from Czech outlet Ruik (31 May) claims that the former Monaco boss has agreed to take over at Sparta Prague.
It states that an official announcement of the ex-Gers man’s appointment is set to happen imminently.

Clement development is a shambles for Rangers
It is a shameful moment for the Govan outfit that Clement will seemingly be back in a dugout before they have even handed the reins over to their new boss.
The American owners need to get a move on, as there is a lot of work to be done this summer to reshape the Auchenhowie side’s fortunes.
Davide Ancelotti and Russell Martin are the frontrunners for the Bears’ job after Steven Gerrard pulled out of the running, but it should not have taken this long to conclude.
The longer it takes the get the new man in place, the less time that they will have to assess the squad and make decisions on who is going to be kept around and which players can leave.
It will take a lot to rebuild the club after the disaster that Clement left, but they will not have much of a chance to do so if the new owners do not get a move on.
