Graeme Souness insists Philippe Clement has done a great job under the current circumstances at Rangers.
Ibrox legend Souness was involved in the interviewing process to replace Michael Beale as manager and publicly admitted his first choice was Frank Lampard. And while Gers chiefs elected to appoint Clement to the hotseat, Souness has made it clear he’s fully behind the former Monaco bossHowever, speaking ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm showdown at Parkhead, Souness clarified the reasons why he thought ex-Chelsea, Everton and Derby boss Lampard was the right man for the job after a series of interviews. He said: “Let me clear that up. I was big on Frank.I’ll tell you why I was big on Frank, for one reason. Philippe was the best at the interview. He was very impressive with his presentation. And then he turned around and said, ‘Well I’ve not really done this before’.
