REPORT: The legendary Portuguese manager has been linked with a sensational move to Glasgow to become the next permanent manager of the club.

Mourinho, 62, has been the biggest name tipped to take on the Rangers job, with fans purring at the prospect of such a blockbuster appointment.

Just a few months ago such a suggestion would have you laughed at.

But many now believe it could become a reality with the financial backing of incoming US owners 49ers Enterprisers.

Mourinho does however still have one year left on his Fenerbahce contract and there’s been little talk of him parting ways with the Turkish giants before his deal expires. He only joined the Istanbul side last summer but he’ll end his first season trophyless after Galatasaray sealed their title win at the weekend.

But although Mourinho missed out on silverware this season, Fenerbahce president Ali Koc insists the legendary boss will STAY to put things right next year.

The Turkish chief is confident Mourinho is happy where he is and has rubbished any rumours suggesting the club are looking at other managerial options.

Addressing the gaffer’s future in a press conference, Koc said: “We want to continue with Jose Mourinho for stability. I find it more appropriate for Mourinho to continue for the benefit of Fenerbahçe.”
