Aberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness has backed private equity to come in for Rangers with a “Todd Boehly lite” taking ownership of the club.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Aberdeen between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted “now is the right time to strike” for interested parties after the Ibrox club failed to secure Champions League qualificationAccording to City AM (27 August), Rangers are attracting takeover interest from American investors who value the club at around £150million.
