
Marco Rose to Rangers faces major hurdle after next manager resurgence as key RB Leipzig contract detail ‘revealed’
Rose has been without a job since leaving RB Leipzig last term but appears to have admirers within Ibrox
Out of work Marco Rose is rocketing up the next Rangers manager shortlist – but the Ibrox club could face a hefty price if they get serious about appointing the Germany.
Pharmaceutical tycoon Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises are set to usher in a new era to Ibrox this summer with the hunt for Philippe Clement’s permanent successor ramping up.
Steven Gerrard, Davide Ancelotti and Russell Martin have been strongly linked with the vacancy – with Rose’s name drifting in recent weeks.

But bookmakers now put the 48-year-old among the favourites – with only red-hot frontrunner Gerrard trumping the German boss.

Rose has been out of work since leaving RB Leipzig earlier this season with the club struggling to reach the Champions League spots in the Bundesliga.
However, having worked for Leipzig and Austrian outfit Red Bull Salzburg his work with the energy drinks giants has reportedly put him on the incoming consortium’s radar.

The San Francisco 49ers own Leeds United and work hand-in-hand with Red Bull, who own a minority stake at Elland Road and are the club’s main shirt sponsors.
Incoming sporting director Kevin Thelwell is also a Red Bulls alumni – having worked at New York Red Bulls before joining Everton.
However, there is unlikely to be any financial favours from Leipzig – with BILD reporting Rose remains under contract with the club.

It is claimed his deal runs until 2026 and was put “on hold” rather than terminated – meaning potential suitors would likely have to pay compensation.
Rose was reportedly on around £3million per year at Leipzig – leaving potential suitors with the prospect of paying up the full wage should they look to bring in the boss.
The boss is also set to demand a bumper pay packet – with reports in Egypt claiming that an agreement to take charge of Al Ahly collapsed due to his mega £3.8million-per-year salary request.

But Betfair put Rose among the red-hot contenders for the Premiership vacancy with speculation at fever pitch.
Spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Odds have been slashed on Marco Rose to become the next permanent Rangers manager with Ibrox chiefs yet to decide who will replace Barry Ferguson ahead of the new season.

“Rose is now the 3/1 second favourite to take the job, having been 15/2 on Friday and as long as 14/1 earlier in the week.
“Steven Gerrard remains the clear favourite at 2/9 to make a return to Ibrox, with departing Real Madrid coach Davide Ancelotti still in contention to take over at 7/2.”
Rose has previously hinted at his admiration for the Light Blues’ – hailing the atmosphere on European nights having taken his Leipzig side to Govan.

He said at the time: “It was an absolutely great atmosphere here at Ibrox – great stadium, great fans. It is similar to Celtic, where I had the pleasure to be before.
“There are two great clubs here in Glasgow. It has been special – particularly, at the moment, because we do not have that many supporters in Germany.”
