Philippe Clement heading for sack after Rangers boardroom ‘chaos’ – Keith Wyness
Aberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted he is “not hopeful” Rangers boss Philippe Clement will hold on to his job amid boardroom chaos at Ibrox.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Aberdeen between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed the Gers could end up in a “real spiral” amid infighting behind the scenes.

Rangers announced on Saturday (14 September) that chairman John Bennett has stepped down “with immediate effect for health reasons”.
As per the Daily Record (19 September), former chairman Dave King has thrown his hat into the ring for the role and has challenged the club to call an EGM to let supporters decide who should succeed Bennett.
King claimed Rangers need a “minimum of £50million to achieve our short to medium term objectives”.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on Friday (20 September) that manager Clement is just one defeat away from being put under real pressure by the club.

The Glasgow giants are already five points adrift of Celtic and failed to qualify for the league phase of the Champions League last month.
Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I hope this gives Clement a longer leash.

“But these clubs spiral into chaos and it often leads to chaos on the pitch.

“But there’s history, there’s a precedent – I’m not hopeful Clement will hold on.
“We could see Rangers in a real spiral.”
