Daizen Maeda, Kasper Schmeichel and Paulo Bernardo send Saturday night messages to Celtic fans
Celtic fans are waking up to another superb morning after witnessing their team destroy St Johnstone 6-0 in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday night.
Brendan Rodgers’ Bhoys have now won nine straight matches at the start of the 2024/25 season, ruthlessly and with quality, taking on all challengers at home and abroad.
Goals from Kyogo Furuhashi, Paulo Bernardo, Daizen Maeda, Callum McGregor, and Adam Idah blew the Perth Saints away this weekend, as Celtic showed they are not only the best team in the country but also the most entertaining one.
St Johnstone caretaker boss Andy Kirk described the Bhoys as ‘unstoppable’, while Brendan Rodgers praised their tireless performance.

Kasper Schmeichel enjoyed another fairly relaxed evening in the Celtic goal. He only had one save of note to make in the match but made it well, mostly witnessing his team’s attacking quality up close.
He said on Instagram while highlighting his burgeoning relationship with backup option Viljami Sinisalo: “Excellent from start to finish today. Let’s keep this going.”

Paulo Bernardo produced a superb performance on the night, retaining his place in the team ahead of Reo Hatate.

The Portuguese midfielder has really staked a claim to stay in Rodgers’ plans for the upcoming match away to Borussia Dortmund, forming a midfield three with Callum McGregor and Arne Engels.
After scoring and assisting against St Johnstone, he said on Instagram: “Really happy to help the team with another goal and even more with the victory.”
Daizen Maeda takes Celtic acclaim
Nobody is more popular in a Celtic shirt than Daizen Maeda right now. His incredible energy and work ethic are really setting the tone for excellent team performances, something the manager highlighted in his post-match interviews.

His goal against St Johnstone took his tally to the season to five, making him the club’s top scorer so far this season.
The Japanese international’s Saturday night social media message was simple: a friendly acknowledgement to supporters or, from a Borussia Dortmund perspective, perhaps an ominous warning.
Maeda said: “See you on Tuesday.”
We excitedly await what’s next from the team with that Champions League challenge a can’t-miss affair.
