Darren O’Dea believes Brendan Rodgers has made a ‘pivotal’ summer signing for Celtic
Brendan Rodgers was a busy man for Celtic this summer as he added seven new faces to the squad.
The Celtic boss also managed to move on players he felt had no part to play at the club as he looked to trim his bloated squad to add more quality for the season ahead.
And, so far, it seems to be working out for Rodgers. Celtic are unbeaten in all competitions on the domestic scene and in Europe in the Champions League and are enjoying a great start to the season.
And Darren O’Dea reckons that is down in no small part to the Celtic boss’s summer recruitment.
Adam Idah is a ‘pivotal’ signing for Celtic
The permanent addition of Adam Idah this summer was a reward for the Republic of Ireland international’s great work whilst on loan at Celtic last season.
And O’Dea reckons that breaking Celtic’s transfer record to land the 23-year-old was so important this summer after watching him against Slovan Bratislava last month.
O’Dea told the Irish Mirror, “Listen, especially Liam, he played most of the game. Liam has been an absolute credit to himself, he has done absolutely brilliantly, he is playing at the highest level and he is doing it with such comfort. He has got a wonderful attitude.
“And Adam has come in and impacted the team massively last year. He was a pivotal signing to get over the line, which the club did brilliantly with.
MORE CELTIC STORIES
“Both boys are contributing massively to Celtic and hopefully that translates into Irish football soon.

“He has been at the club a short space of time and he has scored a Cup-winning goal, league-winning goals and now a Champions League goal. That’s a decent start.”
Adam Idah making waves at Celtic
Idah has made seven appearances for Celtic and has already scored four goals so far this season. What makes that all the more remarkable is that he has only started two of those games.
Idah is currently averaging a goal every 61.5 minutes as he looks to pay back the hefty £9.5m fee Celtic paid Norwich City for his services.
Undoubtedly, Idah will make another appearance for Celtic against Borussia Dortmund tonight and if he can make the same impact in Germany as he has in Scotland, the young Irishman will further endear himself to the Celtic support.
