Dapo Mebude wants Rangers return as Ibrox ‘dream’ shared in new admission
Dapo Mebude has admitted his dream is to score for Rangers after leaving Ibrox in the summer of 2021.
The 23-year-old ran down his contract at Ibrox, leaving as a free agent over three years ago before joining Watford, Oostende and now Dunfermline Athletic on a free transfer.
Mebude only ever made one senior appearance for the Light Blues, earning his debut during the 2018/19 Scottish Premiership campaign, being kept out of the side by Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos.
Speaking to the Daily Record on Thursday (17 October), Mebude said: ” I want to play for Rangers again one day. I would love to play at Ibrox. I made my debut when I was a young boy and then decided to take a different route.
“If it’s meant to be it will be. It would be great to play for Rangers again and that’s the dream, scoring goals for Rangers. I try not to live life with regrets. I left Rangers because I thought it was the best thing to do.”
Dapo Mebude to make Rangers return?
Many young players dream of becoming stars at Ibrox, though few manage it and have to explore different options. Even fewer get the chance to return to the club.
Mebude, who is now plying his trade in the second tier of Scottish football, has a chance to put his career back on the right track following a series of unlucky injuries, including a near-fatal car crash.
He never made a senior appearance for Watford before joining Oostende, where he only played eight times over two years in Belgium, finally ending back in Scotland.

A return to Ibrox seems extremely unlikely given his goal record over the seasons since leaving the Gers, though it only takes one campaign to impress.
The centre-forward has played just 18 minutes for Dunfermline in the Scottish Championship so far, but it is clear that he has goals set for the future and is dreaming big of an Ibrox return one day.
In other Rangers news, the national media was amazed by what one Gers star did on international duty against Cristiano Ronaldo.
