Hamza Igamane has been seriously linked with a move away from Rangers since the January transfer window, and the speculation surrounding his future has only intensified as the summer window progresses.

The Moroccan forward, who joined Rangers in 2023, has attracted interest from several European clubs following an impressive debut season at Ibrox.

Despite a strong start to life in Scotland—scoring key goals and showcasing pace, skill, and versatility in attack—Igamane’s form dipped during the second half of the campaign. Reports began to surface in January that he had grown unsettled, frustrated by limited minutes under manager Philippe Clement as Rangers reshuffled their tactical approach. Though no deal materialised mid-season, insiders suggested that the groundwork for a summer departure was already being laid.

Ligue 1 side Lille have emerged as the front-runners to sign Igamane, with negotiations reportedly advancing in recent weeks. The French club sees the 21-year-old as a long-term replacement for Arnaud Kalimuendo, who is expected to leave. Rangers are believed to be holding out for a fee in the region of £15 million, a significant profit on the £1.7 million they paid for him just a year ago.

Other clubs, including Rennes, Udinese, and Everton, have also been linked with the player, but Lille’s intent appears strongest. Igamane is reportedly open to the move and has agreed on personal terms, which could see the deal finalised soon.

Should the transfer go through, it would mark the end of a short yet eventful stint for Igamane at Rangers. His departure would also open up space in the squad for a new attacking signing, as Clement looks to reshape his squad ahead of the new season.
