Martin insisted after the match that the Ibrox outfit “stepped up physically” after the break, but Halliday wasn’t convinced. Speaking in his pundit role, the 32-year-old argued that while Rangers had more of the ball, they failed to impose themselves in the manner their manager suggested.
“I just don’t buy that they were aggressive in the second half,” Halliday said. “They might have had spells of possession, but aggression is about intensity, putting tackles in, making the opposition uncomfortable — and I didn’t really see that from Rangers.”
The 1-1 draw has left Martin under continued scrutiny, with Rangers having now won just four of their last 13 games in all competitions. With a crunch domestic fixture looming, pressure remains on the Ibrox boss to deliver a convincing performance and result.
