After Hearts’ 1-0 loss to St Mirren on Tuesday night, Rangers had the perfect chance to close the gap in the Scottish Premier League title race.
Danny Rohl’s side took that opportunity with both hands, as Rangers ran out as 5-1 winners against Kilmarnock.New boy Ryan Naderi did not start, but the German did show promise after featuring off the bench. Naderi was said to offer Rangers something different up top.
Additionally, Naderi was praised for his work rate. It would not be a surprise to see him start in the Scottish Cup on Sunday now.
While the 5-1 win will certainly delight Rohl, the Bears manager was not happy with everything he saw on the night, particularly off the pitch.After learning of Hearts’ result and the fact Celtic’s game against Aberdeen was postponed, there was bound to be some nervousness surrounding Rangers.
The chance to go just three points behind the league leaders and create a gap of three points above Celtic, even with a game in hand, was a golden chance for the club.
