Jim White shares Rangers board update after Philippe Clement sack decision
Rangers have yet to even hold a board meeting despite rumours of Philippe Clement being sacked on Sunday, Jim White has said.
Social media whispers emerged on 24 November that the Belgian was set to be given his marching orders at Ibrox, but they were shut down quickly [Rangers Review].
White shared that despite being third in the Scottish Premiership behind Aberdeen and Celtic, Clement will carry on as manager in Govan.
He wrote on X: “No change at Rangers – despite club being a distant third in the SPFL.
“No board meeting and Philippe Clement carries on.”
Rangers boardroom update after Clement sack decision
This is the news that everyone was dreading after the excitement that a fresh start could be underway with the sacking of Clement.
News that a board meeting hasn’t even been held with any talks over the manager is disheartening too, with a decision clearly not even close.
With games against Nice in the Europa League on 28 November, then St Johnstone, Kilmarnock and Ross County to follow, nothing short of three domestic wins at least would do.

John Gilligan looks to be passing on the torch very soon at Ibrox, with Malcolm Offord ready to become chairman of the Govan club very shortly [The Scottish Sun].
With Patrick Stewart set to become the new CEO too, some big decisions will be on their plates immediately as they settle down to life at Rangers.
Clement has seen the chaos at board level become a blessing in disguise it seems, but he will be on very thin ice heading towards Christmas, that is for sure.
