Philippe Clement Rangers latest as rumours swirl that Ibrox manager has been sacked
The future of Rangers manager Philippe Clement is the subject of swirling rumours as the pressure rises on the under-fire Belgian.
Rangers fans are furious with the club currently 11 points off the summit of the Scottish Premiership, eight points off Aberdeen in second and in a battle with Dundee United for 3rd.
The club are the only team in Scotland yet to score from a set-piece this season and have only scored 17 goals in total this campaign, putting them joint 6th highest in the league’s scoring charts.
And that includes a 6-0 thrashing of Ross County early on in the season.
Rangers have also scored two away goals all season long, winning only once in five games on the road in the Scottish Premiership.
The situation is drastic, there is plenty of talk of Philippe Clement being sacked, but as things stand there are no plans to fire the Rangers manager.

Not only is Philippe Clement’s record plain to see so far this season, but Rangers long-awaited rebuild is yet to harbour any serious results.
Gers fans are being asked to pin their hopes on that magical quantity potential whilst Celtic once again romp to yet another title and prepare to overtake the club’s trophy record.
Despite this, the bungling Ibrox board have promoted Nils Koppen to technical director and thrown their weight behind Philippe Clement.
Suggestions to the contrary might be grabbing the attention of Gers fans, but the Rangers Review reports ‘there is no suggestion a change of manager is imminent’.
Rangers manager hanging by a thread
Rangers manager Philippe Clement cut a forlorn figure as he faced the press following the 1-1 draw with Dundee United.
The Ibrox boss admitted that current results have not been good enough but insists he still believes his team have what it takes to compete in the Scottish Premiership title race.
Unfortunately for the Belgian, the swell of Rangers supporters don’t support what many view as delusion rather than optimism with results pretty much in fitting with one-dimensional, unenthusiastic, pathetic performances.
”I speak about the points, we lose too many points,” said Clement. “We’re not where we want to be as a club. And we knew that before this game.
”In that way it’s two points again lost that we cannot lose. Last season these kind of games we won every time, even when it was difficult we could push things over the line.
”Fans can think what they want and that’s their right also. I never give up is something is not possible. And I see also what I see in the second half. Everybody sees also what they see in the second half. We need to have that level much more the next couple of months and take much more points.
”Of course it’s a big gap and you don’t know what others teams, how many points they lose along the way but we need to get more points. And you see also, if you play like you play in the second half you will get more points, but we need to put that as a standard for the team and that’s what I said in the dressing room also.”
