Liverpool FC have officially responded to the wave of criticism from Newcastle United supporters regarding recent speculation surrounding striker Alexander Isak.
In a strongly worded statement released this afternoon, the club defended their stance amid rumours that Isak was unsettled at Anfield and pushing for a return to St James’ Park. Liverpool made it clear that the Swedish international remains fully committed to the club’s project and has shown “nothing but professionalism and dedication” since joining.
The statement read: “Any suggestion that Alexander Isak is unhappy at Liverpool is completely false. He continues to be an important part of our squad and is focused on the challenges ahead.”
Liverpool’s response comes after a section of Newcastle fans took to social media accusing the Reds of “ruining” Isak’s development. Club sources, however, have reiterated that both the player and manager Arne Slot share a strong working relationship, and that Isak remains part of the club’s long-term vision.
