L’Equipe bemoan ‘humiliating’ incident in Rangers win v Nice – ‘Painful Slap’
French newspaper L’Equipe has bemoaned Hamza Igamane’s second strike for Rangers after describing it as “humiliating” for Nice.
The Gers secured a famous win away in the Europa League on Thursday (28 November), winning 4-1 thanks to strikes from Vaclav Cerny, Mohamed Diomande and a brace from the Moroccan.
The away side easily could have scored more than four, which L’Equipe described as a “painful slap” for the Eaglets.
Picking out Igamane’s second goal in particular, the French outlet was particularly unhappy with this moment, saying: “Finally, he offered the fourth to Igamane by losing the ball and then suffering a humiliating little bridge.”

There is no doubt that the 22-year-old was one of the best players on the pitch at the Allianz Riviera, netting two and could have had many more.

The striker looked so comfortable on the ball and proved that with his second strike, taking it past one defender before curling the ball into the far corner with ease.
Given that Cerny found himself free for a cut back to his right, there was plenty of pressure on the finish but Igamane scored with aplomb.
His level of performance was superb and showed exactly why the Gers brought him in, in a seemingly random signing during the summer.

The young forward was only made to look better when Cyriel Dessers came on and missed a golden chance to make it five, shooting wide from less than six yards out.
With a clash against St Johnstone coming up (1 December) the Morocco forward has done himself all the favours possible to reclaim a spot in the starting XI while also winding up the French media.
In other Rangers news, a Sportscene pundit couldn’t believe what he saw in the win against Nice.
