🗣️Rangers legend Ally McCoist🚨 has issued a stark warning about the scale of the challenge🔥 facing manager Danny Röhl, describing the club’s current transfer situation as “doubly concerning” and predicting it could take three windows to put things right at Ibrox.

Speaking after the 2–0 Europa League defeat to AS Roma, McCoist admitted he has serious doubts about the club’s direction both on and off the pitch. He believes the squad has “regressed massively” and says the problems run much deeper than just results.

“I genuinely think it’ll take three transfer windows to sort this,” McCoist told talkSPORT.
“The recruitment has been horrendous — it’s been one mistake after another. You can’t expect a new manager to come in and fix that overnight.”

The Ibrox icon expressed sympathy for Röhl, who has endured a difficult start to life in Glasgow with three defeats in his opening five matches. McCoist highlighted the lack of experienced leaders in the current side, describing the team as “miles off it” compared to Rangers sides of old.

“It’s doubly concerning,” he added.
“You look at the performances and they’re nowhere near good enough. But what worries me more is that there’s no short-term fix. The club has lost its spine — and replacing that takes time, money and proper planning.”

McCoist’s comments come amid growing fan unrest following back-to-back European defeats and inconsistent league form. Recruitment has once again come under scrutiny after a string of summer signings — including Youssef Chermiti and Leon King — have failed to make the desired impact.

The former Rangers boss believes Röhl faces a monumental rebuild and urged patience from supporters, while also calling for better leadership from the club’s hierarchy.

“Danny’s got a big job. A big, big job. The fans need to see progress, but it starts at the top. Recruitment, planning, stability — that’s where Rangers have fallen behind.”
