Kris Boyd has urged Rangers to move quickly for Derek McInnes and Lawrence Shankland as he outlined what he believes the club should do ahead of next seasonThe former Ibrox striker insisted he would target the Hearts boss immediately to replace current manager Danny Rohl, while also bringing Scotland international Shankland to Glasgow.
Speaking on The Warm Up, Boyd said: “If it’s me, and I’m putting my Rangers hat on here, I would go straight right now and get McInnes in that door, 100 per cent. And I’d also bring Shankland with him as well.”Boyd’s comments come after Hearts narrowly missed out on the Premiership title on the final day, losing to Celtic at Parkhead despite an impressive campaign under McInnes.
Despite mounting pressure on the German, Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh has indicated that Rohl is expected to stay in place for the foreseeable future.
