Wolverhampton Wanderers were one of the clubs credited with interest in Udinese’s Thomas Kristensen in the winter market.
The English club added two new centre-backs, Emmanuel Agbadou and Nasser Djiga, in the last window, and Djiga arrived at Molineux on deadline day from Red Star Belgrade.Last Tuesday, we covered claims from Italy which stated Wolves made a £12.5m bid for Kristensen on deadline day. It was also said the Premier League side’s offer was rejected by the Pozzo family, who own Udinese.
Claims from the UK have also reported on the Italian club turning down Wolves’ offer for the 23-year-old on deadline day.Tipsbladet had a chat with the Dane and have also relayed reports from elsewhere about Wolves’ proposal and interest showed by other clubs.
Kristensen hasn’t specifically mentioned Vítor Pereira’s side or any other club. Tipsbladet state he was aware of the interest and explain why he didn’t consider leaving Udinese in the recently concluded window.
“Obviously, I have a background and an agent who takes care of such things. But most of the things I’ve been involved in myself. It wasn’t my plan to leave already, also because I haven’t put a lot of matches together this season,” he said.
“It’s clear that there has been interest in this window. But both the club and I feel that there are still more things to tick off here in Udine, so we’ll take it easy and continue to develop, and then we’ll see what happens in the future.”
