Leeds United man to miss eight games including Millwall and QPR contests after injury set-back
Leeds United have suffered a fresh injury set-back ahead of games with Millwall and QPR next month
Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has revealed an injury set-back for one of his players after Millwall won 2-0 at Elland Road in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.
Femi Azeez scored either side of half time to clinch a fine win for Alex Neil’s side as they booked their spot in the fifth round. With Leeds battling for promotion to the Premier League, Farke rested some of his players ahead of the midweek round of Championship games.
Leeds take on Watford while Millwall travel to Plymouth Argyle following their shock FA Cup win over Liverpool on Sunday. Queens Park Rangers are in action on Tuesday night as they make the trip to Coventry City.

Fresh injury blow for Leeds ahead of Millwall and QPR
Max Wober missed Leeds’ defeat against Millwall on Saturday with a knee problem and is now set for surgery on the issue. He is set to be out for the next eight games which means he will not feature when the Yorkshire club take on Millwall and QPR in back-to-back fixtures next month.

Farke said: “Bad news sadly with Max Wober, this ongoing knee problem. He will need another surgery, we’ll do this as quick as possible and he’ll be out until the next international break. During this week he’ll have the surgery and he’s out for about six weeks, so the end of March.”
Reflecting further on Saturday’s defeat to Millwall, Farke added: “It was a much-changed side and different competition. Last league games, we want to take confidence and good solutions into the next game. There were still also a few positives in the cup game. First debut for Sam Chambers, won’t rush it with him. There were some promising signs. I think Isaac Schmidt was there with a solid performance, good confidence boost, could be he’s back in the gameday squad, quite liked what he offered. Wouldn’t interpret too much into this cup game. Important to give some players a rest during this busy schedule. Some can be more recharged and recovered.”

Neil hails goalkeeper
Liam Roberts was on the receiving end of positive praise from Lions boss Neil after his performance at the weekend. The goalkeeper saved a penalty as he kept a clean sheet, having started just three games all season.

“You’re going to have to defend your box well, you’re going to have to rely on your keeper on occasions when you play Leeds,” Neil told Southwark News. “I mean you’re not going to have it where it’s all one way. They’re going to have opportunities because they’re a very good side. They’ve got real quality in attacking areas and I think the stats suggests that over the course of the season.
“So we knew we were going to have to defend, we knew our goalkeeper was going to have to have a good game and the flip side of that is just to make sure that we’re not passive in the match, which we weren’t. So that was probably the most pleasing thing. I thought when we needed Liam he was very assured in what he did.”
In other news, Millwall and QPR’s Championship rivals are on the hunt for their next manager ahead of games against the two London clubs in the coming weeks.
