Patrick Stewart repeating the mistakes of Rangers past as Philippe Clement sack doubts continue
It feels like there has been unrest at Rangers since the moment the Scottish Premiership title was won.
On the day that the trophy was presented and returned to the trophy room, the manager spoke about fixing the roof while the sun shines, instead, the hole got bigger.
There were court cases off the field, arguments and fractured relationships in the Rangers board room, money wasted on the pitch and then a mass exodus off it to leave Ibrox in a shambles both figuratively and literally.

Patrick Stewart under pressure as Rangers CEO hesitates
A new dawn was heralded when a new chairman and CEO were finally appointed.
Patrick Stewart instructed that a review be carried out to identify what changes needed to be made throughout the club with unbiased eyes looking deep into the problems that have led to the current situation.
The CEO also gave his backing to Clement, a man under intense pressure after falling 13 points behind Celtic in the league despite beating their bitter Old Firm rivals at home.
Stewart insisted that the cycle of hiring and firing managers can’t continue, but just over a month into the job and he is already in the line of fire himself.
What doesn’t help his cause is the perceived two-tier approach to communication that emerged over the weekend.

Speaking to hospitality ‘clients’ is fine, however, if you don’t address all the other fans in the same manner, questions will be asked.
Is Stewart making the same old mistakes?
Transparency has been an issue for years in terms of communication, the fiasco with Ibrox in the summer being the latest that could have been dealt with in a more professional manner.
Fans aren’t stupid. They understand that money has been wasted over the years and that losses have been made on players and managers alike, but they deserve more for the money that the continue to put into the club despite years of failure.
Whether he tells fans what they want to hear or not, Stewart not addressing fans and letting Clement face the scrutiny on his own only makes matters worse.
Good leaders sometimes have to make decisions that they don’t want to make, but to not make any and hope that a problem just goes away, isn’t leadership at all.
