What has Philippe Clement done to pick up Rangers players?

When asked in the pre-match press conference what he can do to help his players and how to recover with the season all but over, he said:

 

“To speak with them, to see who needs what, to see what we need as a team, to learn from this last game where mistakes are made and things they did well.

 

“And to focus on Hearts because it’s a different game, it’s a different opponent.

 

“And we need to show back again what the team has shown the last weeks, this last period, where they played good games also domestically. So that’s what we need to show on Sunday.”

Hearts have a strong squad and Neil Critchley has improved them immeasurably to the extent that they aren’t far behind Rangers, and Celtic, in terms of the form table since he took over.

 

The problem is, if Clement is telling the players to do things that haven’t been working rather than looking at himself too and assessing what he needs to do better.

 

Yes, he has been in the game a long time, but that doesn’t mean that he has all the answers or that what worked at one club, when he was successful in the past, will work again at Rangers.
