As auditions go, a striker reportedly on Leeds United’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window passed his with flying colours on his visit to Elland Road.
A centre-forward is likely to be one of the top priorities on Daniel Farke’s to-do list, regardless of which league Leeds United find themselves playing in next term.

So, in the last few days alone, reports have emerged suggesting that the team sitting five points clear at the top of the Championship are already looking ahead to the summer window.
Leeds are reportedly tracking Evann Guessand of Ligue 1 outfit Nice. Daniel Farke described Josh Sargent as a ‘top striker’ ahead of January’s 2-0 victory over Norwich City in West Yorkshire, and he also has admirers at Elland Road.
As for Wilson Isidor, the Sunderland fans favourite running his very own Goal of the Season competition on Wearside, a wonderful turn and finish against Leeds may just have seen the rangy Frenchman rocket up the wishlist of many a club in the market for a powerful, pacy but also extremely technically-gifted number nine.

The nature of the way the Black Cats are run these days is that Sunderland tend to buy cheap and sell high, prioritising young, hungry, ambitious footballers with considerable re-sale potential. So while Isidor has embraced life on Wearside – few players have been taken to the hearts of a fanbase as quickly as he has – the former Zenit St Petersburg attacker is certainly not unsellable.
Sunderland may have little choice but to cash in if they miss out on promotion, and Leeds or one of Isidor’s other suitors come calling with a considerable offer.
Yet, Palmer’s assessment of a £10 to £12 million fee seems a little on the cheap side in an era where the finest footballers in the Championship tend to be traded for far larger sums.
Palmer predicts £12 million price-tag for Isidor
“Sunderland always have this because of the way they run the club, every window there’s speculation about their players. There will be no difference coming up to this summer,” adds Palmer.
“They paid £3 million for Isidor. That looks like a real bargain buy as he’s already got 12 goals, he should finish the season with at least 18 or 19 in the Championship which would be a good return.
“Will Sunderland cash in? They are a selling club. They bring players in and sell.
Sunderland want to get promoted themselves and if they do then that becomes a different ball game in terms of keeping the player, who will already be in the Premier League if they go up via the play-offs.
“So what would he be worth? Sunderland would be looking for £10 to 12 million back, which would be a decent return on their investment.”
With 12 goals to his name so far, Isidor is just three adrift in the Championship’s Golden Boot rankings. Piroe currently sits joint-top alongside Borja Sainz of Norwich City.
