Leeds United to ‘sell Brenden Aaronson’ as Elland Road concerns emerge already

Leeds United are about to enter the final stretch for promotion to the Premier League, but Daniel Farke is already looking towards the summer transfer window.

While promotion is the aim this season, that is only half the battle for Leeds, who will need to secure their long-term future in the top flight.

With that in mind, Farke will need to be prepared for changes as the season concludes with Brenden Aaronson’s future on the minds of those at Elland Road.

Aaronson future in doubt at Leeds United

Although Farke has formed an excellent squad in the Championship, Leeds have been warned about the difficulties of life in the Premier League.

With this in mind, the West Yorkshire outfit must be prepared to make changes and bring in players who are equipped to help with top-flight survival.

According to TEAMtalk (27 March), one player that could be set for the axe should promotion be achieved, is Aaronson, despite his efforts this season.

There are concerns behind the scenes at Elland Road that the 24-year-old does not have the physical strength to compete in the league above.

Furthermore, Leeds are willing to part ways with players who are not suited to life in the Premier League and after Aaronson’s last spell in the league, they could cash in.

There is said to be interest in the attacking midfielder from both England and abroad, already.

Farke has to be ruthless for Leeds survival

There is still plenty of work to be done in West Yorkshire if Leeds are going to achieve their aims of promotion this season.

After a recent dip in form, the Whites are level on points with Sheffield United at the top of the table, meaning every result from now could be crucial.

There is no denying that Aaronson has performed at high levels in periods this season, but his inconsistency is not good enough.

However, the boss is undoubtedly going to have to make changes to his side if they go up, and as a player who has already suggested he might struggle in his 36 Premier League appearances last time round, you can understand why he would be on the chopping block.

With Willy Gnonto potentially available for selection against Swansea City on Saturday (29 March), Aaronson could already find himself dropped from the side with his form having struggled of late.

With eight games to go, the United States international can use it as a chance to prove himself to Farke, but if the boss is serious about survival, then he may not be up to the challenge.
