Money talks” – Exclusive: Sky Sports pundit issues Sunderland, Dan Neil transfer claim as AS Roma lurk

Former Premier League midfielder and current Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has admitted that it may be hard for Sunderland to keep hold of captain and key man Dan Neil this summer amid reported interest in his services from Italian giants AS Roma.

Energetic midfielder Neil is a local lad and grew up as a Black Cats supporter. He joined their academy set-up in 2010 and made his way through their youth ranks to make his debut for the club in 2018 at just 16-years-old.He has become an increasingly important player at the Stadium of Light over the last few seasons, and has been a particular standout in the middle of the park so far this term as Sunderland push for promotion to the Premier League under Regis Le Bris.Neil has played a part in all but one of the Black Cats’ Championship games so far this term, with two goals and three assists from 37 appearances as they aim to consolidate their place in the top six ahead of a potential play-off campaign.

His form has understandably caught the attention of numerous clubs across England, with West Ham and Everton both previously linked, and now on the continent too, with Serie A outfit Roma also claimed to have registered their interest in his services
