Barry Ferguson to ‘reject 49ers offer’ at Rangers after what he has done

Barry Ferguson is already pushing for the permanent manager role at Rangers.

Rangers have enjoyed their best few weeks of an otherwise miserable season since Philippe Clement was dismissed in February, with Ferguson injecting new life into the squad.The Gers reached the Europa League quarter-finals, won a dramatic Old Firm clash and came back from 3-1 down to beat Dundee 4-3 in their recent matches under Ferguson.

With no decision yet made over who could be the next permanent Rangers manager under potential new owners 49ers Enterprises, Ferguson may be in the running to continue in his role next season.With Ferguson impressing in the hot seat, the 47-year-old could take the permanent manager role at the end of the season, but if someone else is hired, he is unlikely to stay on in a different role.Writing in the Daily Record on 31 March, Keith Jackson has now claimed that Ferguson’s character means that he is unlikely to drop down to an assistant role for a new manager after his interim spell.
