Cyriel Dessers Demands Salary Increase, Threatens to Quit Rangers

Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers has reportedly issued an ultimatum to the club, demanding a significant salary increase or threatening to refuse to play in the upcoming matches. The 29-year-old Nigerian forward, who joined Rangers from Cremonese in 2023, is said to be unhappy with his current wage structure and feels his contributions on the pitch warrant improved terms.

Dessers has been a key figure for the Gers this season, scoring crucial goals in both domestic and European competitions. However, sources close to the player suggest he believes his performances have gone underappreciated financially, especially compared to other high earners at Ibrox.

Talks between Dessers’ representatives and Rangers’ management are said to have stalled in recent days, raising concerns about the player’s commitment ahead of vital fixtures. Rangers boss Philippe Clement is reportedly frustrated with the timing of the demand, as the club is still in the thick of the title race and preparing for a possible cup final.

The club has yet to release an official statement, but fans have already taken to social media expressing mixed reactions—some backing Dessers’ stance, while others urge him to focus on football rather than finances during this crucial stage of the

season.
